Energy Ministry may permit Gazprom to sell gas at free price

MOSCOW, Feb 7 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Energy Ministry has suggested that Gazprom and its affiliates sell gas and gas products to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) exporters at a free price, according to documents released on the state portal for legal information on Tuesday.

This will be valid for gas, produced after January 1, 2017, and gas products made at facilities commissioned after the date. The prices will be supervised by the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Energy Ministry, as seen in the documents.

“The mechanism will allow (Gazprom) to implement modern hi-tech projects to produce LPG in cooperation with foreign partners,” the documents read.

The move will not disturb the domestic gas market, where gas is sold at fixed prices, the ministry said.
